Home sweet home

After a long trip I am back home! Last night in Pendleton was actually fun! We set out to town in the snow...wow let me tell you the roads where so icy! It was kinda scary. The stores we went into the people were extremly nice. They tried to help us in many different ways since we were stranded in their town. I couldn't believe how nice all the people were! It was awesome.

We ended up going to Wal-mart on our way back to the hotel to buy some cards. I think that was our 3rd time there? I now know where that store is! We played uno a few times and some normal card games. I think the small room got all three of us a little out of it, we had to leave the room! Lucky for us Denny's was like 20 feet away from our hotel room doors. We decided lets go sit there for a bit. Our 3rd time to Dennys we already recoginized someone who works there...now that is kinda sad! Well he let us sit down at a big table and they got cake/pie. We sat there for at least an hour. We ended up talking to our waiter who was telling us all the stories he's heard about Utah and how he goes to college in Pendleton. It was a good night.

Driving home was fun we woke up at 7 got ready, and packed. For breakfast we decided to go to Dennys. Our "friend" from the night before was there and we talked to him again! We shared our story to our new waitress about trying to go to Portland, but instead we got stuck and now having to turn back. I really dont know how many times we told this story, but everyone said they felt bad and tried to help. The waitress today us to call them ahead of time and get the weather report before we drive clear up here!

We said our good-byes and hit the road. Semis had to have chains to go through the mountains. I have never seen so many semis at one time in my life on the side of the road putting them on, and the opposite way taking them off. At one point I really think we saw 20-40 semis on the side of the road! It was crazy. We almost hit a semi that had a flat bed on it. True story, we came only feet from hitting the back end! Thankfully we didn't. That's not the only thing we almost hit either!! We saw 25+ chains and a tire on the roads of Oregon. It became a game I guess to find the chains that have fallen off. Oregon roads were by far the worst! As soon as we hit Idaho the roads were nice, I think we only hit a few patches of snow on the road and windy times. Utah was also good for the most part until we got to Logan!

For anyone that's going to travel this Christmas please be safe!

Pendleton..

Hey everyone back home! I am currently in Pendleton Oregon. Its about 7-8 hours away from Logan. The ride up was LONG! We stopped in Twin Falls, Idaho so I could see my brothers, grandpas, aunts, and cousins grave. That was an adventure! There was so much snow covering the graves. We also stopped somewhere else (dont remember what town) to get some lunch! We were gonna stop here in Pendleton to eat and an amazing Chinese place and stay the night. Its a big drop off from the road we were on to the town, it was pretty cool. How I explained it to Amanda was like the road getting into Bear Lake but way bigger! It was amazing...I really liked it! Last night we figured out that the snow is going to hit all over Oregon. Schools are shut down, roads everything! I think half the people need to go to Logan for a winter. The snow here isn't anything like back home! And the snow plows are nothing like home. So since the storm is hitting pretty hard we are stuck in Pendleton! Hopefully tomorrow it will clear up enough to either make a day trip to Portland or try to drive home. Either way we are hitting the storm, and trying to go home is by following it! I dont know how long till I get back?? We are being very safe though! Right now we are in the hotel room playing cards and watching movies. Its going to be a very laid back day!!

Miss everyone back home! Hope you guys are enjoing the weather.

LEAVING!

Every time I go on a trip, I pack as late as I can. Today I think I set a record. As of midnight last night I wasn't going to go. I was going to stay home and have Christmas on Sunday. Well 7 am rolls around and my mom wakes me up asking if I decided to go and we'd figure Christmas out later. (plan was to leave here today at 8). I text Nicole and luckily the plans changed and the new leaving time was 9. Lucky me...I got in the shower and started packing at maybe 7:45! LOL Hopefully when I leave for Virginia next month for my 2 week trip I pack at least a day ahead of time!! Knowing me it will be the night before :( Hope everyone has a good weekend! I will be back on the 22nd and will put pictures up as soon as I can!

I'm going to Portland, Oregon on Wednesday! I am so excited. My friend Nicole is going and I'm going with! I will be gone from the 17th to the 22nd! Home just in time for Christmas. When I get back I will hopefully put pictures up! Hope everyone has a good week!

Birthday Party

The Saturday before my birthday, I decided to have a party with a few friends! My friend Jen let me have it at her house. Jen, Krystal, and Jade made me a great cake and decorated the house! It was pretty fun! I had cake shoved in my face. I thought that only happened at weddings? I guess with these friends it happens whenever! I had a good time, with awesome friends!

Amanda and I were trying to take a picture of us being our crazy selfs, thats when Chris came by and got my face with cake. Picture perfect!
